Arrive in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, known for its breathtaking beauty and serene lakes. After hotel check-in, enjoy a peaceful shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens and houseboats. Later, visit the famous Mughal Gardens – Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, with terraced lawns, cascading fountains, and floral blooms. Stroll through the local markets in the evening. Overnight in Srinagar.
Head out to Gulmarg, a picturesque hill station known for its lush green meadows and skiing slopes. Ride the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the world’s highest cable cars, up to Apharwat Peak for spectacular views. Enjoy walking trails, or try activities like golfing or ATV rides. Return to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight at hotel/houseboat.
After breakfast, drive to Sonamarg (“Meadow of Gold”), surrounded by snow-clad peaks and alpine meadows. You can take an optional pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier or simply relax by the river. Enjoy scenic landscapes perfect for photography. Overnight stay.
Begin your journey into Ladakh by crossing Zoji La Pass – a dramatic and rugged mountain road. Stop at Drass, one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, to visit the Kargil War Memorial and pay tribute to the heroes of the 1999 war. Continue to Kargil, set along the Suru River. Overnight stay in Kargil.
Today’s drive takes you deeper into Ladakh’s surreal landscape. En route, visit Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest in the region, surrounded by unique “moonland” formations. Explore Alchi Monastery, known for its ancient Buddhist murals. Pass by the Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to defy gravity, and witness the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers. Arrive in Leh and rest. Overnight stay.
Spend the day exploring Leh’s spiritual and cultural highlights. Visit Hemis Monastery, the largest in Ladakh, followed by the architecturally stunning Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. In the afternoon, tour the Leh Palace, offering panoramic views of the city, and the peaceful Shanti Stupa, especially beautiful at sunset. Stroll through the Leh Market for souvenirs and local crafts. Overnight in Leh.
After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (18,380 ft), one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Descend into the high-altitude desert of Nubra, with dramatic mountains, poplar-lined villages, and cold desert landscapes. Visit Diskit Monastery, home to a giant Buddha statue, and enjoy a camel ride on double-humped Bactrian camels in the Hunder sand dunes. Overnight in Nubra (camp or guesthouse).
Set out early for a scenic drive to the world-famous Pangong Lake via the Shyok River route, offering raw Himalayan beauty. Arrive at Pangong Tso, a high-altitude lake stretching across India and China, known for its shifting blue hues and crystal-clear water. Walk along the shore and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Stay overnight in a camp by the lake under a star-filled sky.
Wake up to a magical sunrise at Pangong Lake, then drive back to Leh, crossing Chang La Pass (17,586 ft), one of the highest in the region. En route, enjoy more stunning views and quiet mountain villages. Upon arrival in Leh, transfer to the airport for your onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of Kashmir and Ladakh.
